I am submitting this on behalf of my wife who continues to live in daily pain. She has trouble looking at computer screens. She tried going back to work this past year part time but had to quick a very low-stress job.
For most of her life she as had migraines, and she was able to deal with by taking BC Powder and other OTC medication, but sometimes that didn't work I'd have to take her to Emergency Department - probably 8-9 times over 8 years period. She almost 50 now. about 8 years ago after nothing being found locally, and probably unnecessary work ( deviated septum surgery ) she had an MRA done at hospital North of us and they found a potential aneurysm. They successfully sealed that with coil/stent behind her eye, but she still suffered from migraines. They also noticed an adrenal nodule.
Fast forward to this past year the OTC no longer work, and now she has severe blood pressure issues mostly very high. She is not overweight. She has been admitted in the hospital three times this year. All the blood pressure medication make her migraines worse!!!! She has tried almost 40, she tried biofeedback, acupuncture, botox, you name it. She seen so many MDs - Neurologist, ENT, Nephrology, Cardiologist etc.. finally, the specialist Neurologist and Headache clinic director are open to sending outside the system (we hope they cover it)...
She is thinking of going to the Mayo Clinic - we are thinking Scottsdale Arizona, thoughts?
How long would she be there?
Any tips to reduce cost?
Any recommendation on medications to try before she goes there?
