Haven't posted on this board ever, so hi I guess; anyway here it is: I've been having migraines probably since childhood, some years are good and some, well, not so good. First med prescribed by neurologist was sumatriptan which didn't work that great, a few months later was given rizatriptan which worked reasonably well. Yesterday/today, I had one of the worst migraines I've ever had. What I did at onset, of course, was take two rizatriptan and wait it out in a quiet space. From there my headache just intensified and blossomed into the most incredibly painful migraine I think I've ever had; was nauseas, sensitive to the slightest bit of light, and all clammy. Just awful. As a last resort I took two percocets which didn't do much either. I was in so much pain, I honestly wasn't really aware of the time and I think I passed out at one point.
Should I move on to the next triptan? Start w/ preventative meds? Should I be concerned about something else going on?
