Hello! New here… Try to briefly explain… Back last end of June/July, I had a awful headache something I had never experienced before, it started out on the side of my head and then went to the back of my head, felt like constant tightening/burning, etc. I have tried a lot of different things but it seems like since I had that awful headache I have been left with random awful pains in the back of my head. One Neurologist told me Occipital Neuralgia – I did the nerve blocks and still had/have pain. Went to another Neurologist who has been doing this since 1974 – he told me it wasn’t that because I’m not sensitive back there at all. I have had a brain and cervical spine MRI – all fine. I’ve tried amitriptyline, gabapentin, Xanax, nothing makes this random pains quit!
Went back for a follow up and he has put me on methylprednisolone to ‘break this migraine cycle’ which is how he described this, also told me to quit Xanax and start Topamax 25mg at night.
This is all new to me, is it POSSIBLE that someone can have a headache almost a YEAR ago and still be left with daily random pains? It’s just hard for me to understand all this seems crazy to me!
Prior to this I’ve never had a history with headaches.
Like the last few days I feel pain a little past my hair line, like top of head.
Just asking for someone to please help and help me understand! I just want this to go away, this has been so stressful for a year now. : (
