I do remember my physician thinking I had basilar type migraines and she suggested regular migraine treatment. No other specialist/doctor ever commented or suggested I had it.
It turned out preservatives triggered a migraine that started with neck pain that radiated a headache at the back of my head. Then formed into a one sided headache. My symptoms also included vertigo, numbness in fingertips, loss of feeling on one side of body, confusion (delayed thinking and difficulty finding words), hot/cold feeling on one side of body, and one sided muscle aches. Blurred vision, visual auras, and phantom sounds are rare.
I still don't have a name for my migraines, but avoiding preservatives have been a life changer.
