Should I see a neurologist for a new diagnosis of my headaches?

I was seen by a neurologist back in 1999 or 2000 because of severe headaches. Since I didn't have classic migraine symptoms, cluster headache symptoms or tension headache symptoms I was diagnosed with "Chronic Headache Syndrome". In the years since that diagnosis, I have had increased headaches. The pain is mostly across the forehead from temple to temple, I have vertigo, nausea, floaters, star showers and sometimes sensitivity to light and sound. I have maybe 3 non-headache days out of every 7 days. I find now that I get very little relief from Imitrex or over-the-counter migraine pain relievers. My family doctor says migraine based on symptoms. I have been thinking about seeing a neurologist to see if a more specific diagnosis can be made. When I saw the neurologist back in 1999 or 2000, he did not run any tests but based his diagnosis on my symptoms and frequency. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I saw your response about my DIL and I thank you. I stopped working in May 2005 due to other health issues, but I also noticed a decrease in the frequency of my headaches. They started increasing in about 2010 and have gotten progressively worse. This is why I am thinking about seeing a neurologist. I won't be able to do anything until after September 1 as I am dealing with GERD issues right now and trying to get some answers and relief in that area before I go on to the next issue.
