Hello,
I am looking for some suggestions and directions I can be pointed in.
I had my second child a year ago and a normal delivery with an epidural. I felt ok after delivery but when I got home I had a panic attack because it felt like I couldn't feel my legs. I went to the walk-in but they said there was nothing wrong. Although I used to get panic attacks in my teens this was weird for me because the panic attacks continued even though I wasn't anxious.
about
two months later I developed an upper respiratory infection that lasted about
two months. After that, I started to feel weird. One day, I woke up with a very weird migraine. I suffered from headaches throughout my life which were triggered by hormones (period) and not eating in time, etc. Needless to say, I knew my triggers and my headaches and occasional migraine were few and far between.
Anyways, this headache was extremely disorientating. It felt like I had been run over by a bus. I had to drive my oldest child to school and remember feeling dizzy and as though I couldn't see properly. The migraine got so bad I had to lay down and have someone help me watch the baby. After that, I kept getting headaches every 2-3 days. I thought it was because I wasn't sleeping enough. I am also self-employed and didn't take a maternity leave, this included working 12 hour days, long hours at the computer, waking up with the baby, etc. Then I thought it was my diet so I started changing things around.
Nothing stopped the frequency of the headaches. One day, I was sitting at my office and I got an intense rush of dizziness and disorientation when I moved my head slightly to the left. It was very powerful and cause me anxiety so I just left.
These intense dizzy rushes kept happening but they only seemed to happen when I tilted my head to the right or looked down on my phone. I was in the drive-through getting a coffee and when I leaned over to put my wallet in my bag, I was severely disoriented and dizzy (not spinning).
I wouldn't spin while lying down, either.
Eventually, the ER told me I had BPPV so I did the Epley and that seemed to stop some of the spinning but i have been dizzy 24/7 since.
- Floating
- off balance
- heavy head

- if i tense up while on the computer or talking a lot, i get a rush of dizziness at the back of my head and disorientation like i am "rising up"
- feel like i am not steady on the ground.

I am getting scared now as this is going on 6 months.
