Hello all!
So after having headaches and migraines for 10 years and them getting progressively worse (now daily to constant headaches with migraines 3x week) & no preventative or abortive medication working on decreasing the frequency or intensity, my neurologist suggested Medical cannaboids. I just started the CBD oil a few weeks ago and have the vape for rescue. Does anyone else have this as a treatment and how is it working for you? I’m trying to remain optimistic here! Tell me your stories!!

Trina,
The “over the counter” CBD oil did nothing for me either. I think there is a slight reduction in my headaches with the real CBD oil. I wonder if since it’s rx strength if it’s more pure? Just a heads up, some doctors have you take a drug test before getting approved for medicinal marijuana. Maybe it’s a state rule? But according to my neurologist, some “over the counter” CBD oil can contain THC so be careful!

With my complex head pain, the THC is what is needed.
This is why I am entering the Med Maj program. some state are getting more relaxed, and I am at the end of medications that help, been trying for 10 years. They have taken narcs away from me. Even though I had
40 tab for 5-6 months. Total BS.
So next adventure to try to control the pain down to a 3-4 which is manageable for me.
I wish you best of luck
Peace

I'm sure results vary from person to person, but it can be helpful for me. Generally, I've not had much luck relieving pain in the midst of a migraine. Sometimes it can make things worse. I have a hypothesis my body is in such disequilibrium during a migraine that it ends up being a stressor. But if I'm careful to limit my intake, it sometimes helps me feel more at ease and can certainly help with nausea.
But it has helped me the most when I use it as an abortive. When I start to feel a migraine coming on, using a moderate amount can help make it less severe. I'm not sure if it directly affects the migraine, but it can help me stay relaxed and that has the potential to totally change the way the migraine goes. Remember that some strains lend more to relaxation and others to excitation.

I wish you much luck,

I live in a state where it's legal, even for recreational use. Next time I have a migraine, I know where I am going! I will let you know how it goes.
I do okay with ponstel for treatment, but I notice it doesn't work as well as it used to these days.
I also had great luck with an antidepressant for a while, but I stopped that because it was expensive, and had other side effects (much more tolerable than migraines but still problematic)

Hi kellyincali,notsosicklygirl,Bnotafraid,korbnep andMissmach86-
I was given a suggestion by my headache specialist for dosing of marijuana. I have had 25+ years
with migraines. I have tried everything out in the medical world. I asked for the dosing at my last appointment feeling I was at the end of my ideas. He mentioned the idea 6 months ago but I told him he was crazy. 🤣
I live in a state where it is legal. When you purchase recreational marijuana,it has a 37% tax with it.
They also don’t carry the dose my specialist recommended. If you get approved for a medical marijuana card, the prices are cheaper and you are able to get a stronger dose. With my history of asthma, I won’t be vaping. I called 1 store and they do carry the dose my specialist recommended: 4 parts CBD to 1 part THC. He also said it shouldn’t make me feel high.
So once I gist my card, we shall see. Please keep me in the loop if anything works. When I purchase some and try it, I will post also.
Hope everyone is having a sunny day!
Carol. 🌻🌼
