Occipital headaches post cervical surgeries

Hi, I am in KY. I had three neck surgeries 15 to 10 years ago . I suffer from occipital headaches and other spinal pain constantly. Headaches last up to 3 weeks, and leave me bedridden. Recent federal guidelines and KY law have prohibited me getting the meds that used to control these. I am in the process of withdrawal from both Xanax and Percocet. Anyone in a similar situation? My State is moving to outlaw opiods outside of Hospital and Hospice and Benzoes altogether. I am 67 and have been on a lifetime federal disability since 1990 from suffering the injuries when my vehicle was blown up. I was a Fed agent.

Thanks, but the Republican Senate won't go for it, even medical, the update to the link discusses that. It's get tough KY. Pain is a benign symptom and suffering is a gift from God. And I am allergic to THC. So it is going to be a zero tolerance State. I would move but my Dad is 93 and I help him out.

I had a good nuerologist, but the University of Louisville bought his practice and he retired. When I had my next appointment, I was surprised if was with the head of the Department. He reviewed my file, closed his laptop, closed the door. He then told me I was too complicated, too time consuming to be a patient there. They then printed out my notes and showed me the door. My PCP refused to give me a referral saying it would take 9 months or more to get an appointment and he did not see a need. I complained over his head, he dismissed me. I got a new PCP, same story. Still don't have a Neurologist. I would not call KY a holistic State. It is a get tough State. No one is disabled, unless they are missing body parts and look it - Rand Paul. Thank you for the quick response. Basically all the MDs are running scared. I am on Medicare primary, and Federal FEP full boat secondary. I sent my notes to over 30 Neurologists, none would take me, as no MDs are taking any new patients on or tapering off Benzoes or Opiates. Further there are at least 3 other men with my full name and birth date that have shown up on my KASPER ( State controlled substances reporting ) reports and even though I have a letter saying my report is " blended ", five MDs have dismissed me saying their license and practice are more important than any one patient. Quite frustrating to say the least. I have autonomic dysfunction as well, don't metabolize normally, and my UAs keep popping false positives for Methadone, which no one can explain. So I am red flagged.

Yes, I went to Vanderbilt and to Ohio. Both said I have a complex condition, with major problems in all major body systems, that needed to be evaluated separately and treated. While most probably were probably related to autonomic dysfunction and the serious injuries I received, there was no "magic bullet" diagnosis of treatment and the problems needed to be evaluated and treated seperately. They were quite dismissive of my Doctors. Actually the most suggested treatment was the one that I ended up on, opiates and benzoes, with proper following and the subsequent improvement in my functionality and quality of life, versus a rather low risk. My risk level was evaluated a 2 out of 10, acceptable for my history and age.

My autonomic dysfunction and spinal injuries and surgical plates, along with high risk for general anesthesia disqualify me from getting a pump. Have looked into it, but thanks for the suggestion.
