Weird feeling throughout body before migraine

I was wondering if anyone gets weird cold feelings throughout their body before a migraine?  I just noticed in the last month that I have been getting these cold weird feelings in my head before the migraine hits.  Is this weird or what?  I also get them in my legs too.  I can have these feelings everyday but not have the migraine, but righ tnow I have them on my scalp, and my neck is starting to hurt, any thoughts?

I feel weird before I get them too.  I can't place my finger on it, just feel weird.  A couple of weeks ago it was at church.  Even though I had a good night's sleep, I felt lethargic and could hardly stand up and sit down and my eyes felt strange and blurring.  Sure enough got home and started with teh aura.   I think that is common.  Then I get really cold.

Yup, I get them too, just like someone has squished an ice cold washcloth on the top of my head and the cold water is trickling down. Very weird feeling... I'm on Topamax, but it doesn't stop these feelings, stops the major headaches but not the symptoms, numbness, aura's and these wonderful little buggers.

Denda, I seen you also on the MS board.  I'm there also, trying to find out what is going on.  Does your neuro feel that your problems are coming from migraines also?  Just curious.  They want me to start on Topamax also, I haven't though yet.  Talk again!!! sad

I was so glad to see your post here on this weird thing. I actually searched on this feeling a week or so ago and couldn't find anything on it, I had the sensation for about 48 hours straight and it was really bugging me! Been having it again off and on for the last 24 hours, no headache, just the cold tingles around the scalp and numbness on the right side of my face. Good grief!

No, she (my neurologist) doesn't really know what's going on, I have a migraine history, but after the eeg showing minor seizure activity that was what made her put me on the topamax. I guess I really should not be having all these crazy symptoms on the Topamax if they were from a migraine, BUT she did state I may not be on a high enough dosage (50mg/day)... UGH.. As long as I can take all the Topamax dosage at night, I'm good to go, but if I have to try to function on this stuff during the day, holy cow, I better take a week off work to get accustomed to it again. I made a major blunder and had a probability/statistic final exam the week I had to bump up my dosage from 25mg to 50mg and bombed it majorly... I WAS a 4.0 student.. Not anymore... Oh well... My health is more important. :o)

I guess we'll see what the LP shows and go from there since the MRI came back with lesions it will backup possible MS if the LP is positive and if it's not positive, then we're looking at old stroke scars (didn't know I had one! :o) ) or severe migraine scars (didn't realize they were THAT bad, yeah I was in pain, but I have never had to go to the ER like most of the poor people on this forum have).

Keep me informed on if you find out anything more and I'll do the same! Hang in there!
