I get a pretty big variety of symptoms too, sometimes it just depends on the severity of the migraine.
My typical ones are:
dizziness
aura (everything gets weird and shimmery. Might actually be kinda fun if there wasnt' so much pain involved!)
nausea (vomiting if it's a bad one)
numbness in face/jaw
numbness extending down my left arm
if it's a really bad one, my left leg also begins to go numb
difficulty using my left arm
difficulty speaking/slurring words/words reversals
sensitivity to light and noise
I'm pretty emotional during, but I don't know if that's just because it hurts so darned much! Afterwards I always feel extremely fatigued.
So far my doctor (well the PA, since I can never get in to see the doctor) has told me that I simply can't be having those symptoms (basically, I must be exaggerating or making things up) and that I need to just move on with life and deal with it and take some advil
The few things I've tried have come from visits to Patient First ( a walk in kind of promptcare clinic, useful, but you never see the same doc twice, it's just whoever happens to be working that day), where at least they make an attempt. Unfortunately, fioricet and compazine just haven't been cutting it. I tried Imitrex, but my asthma --really-- didn't like it.
Right now, I'm
open to just about
anything. And yes, I'm looking for a different doctor that takes my insurance.
I know this probably sounds bad, but I feel better knowing that I'm not the only person that gets more than just the "aura/pain/nausea" and that the PA is wrong.
