Ear Stapling

I have been suffering from migraines for about 25 years.  Mine are not often (4-5 times a year), but they are still debilitating and I lose 2-3 days of my life after I have one.  I have aura, numbness on right side, vomiting and then intense pain for 6-8 hours.  Usually the next day I am in a fog, suffer from diahrea from the medication and by the third day usually better to go to work, but not myself and very fatiqued and feel like I have just been ran over by a train.  I have tried every abortive medication on the market in 25 years and they all work okay, but the side effects of upset stomach and "fogginess", rapid heart rate, etc. are still there.  I recently heard about ear stapling to prevent migraines (also for weight loss, quit smoking, etc.)  I researched it not beleiving for a second it would work.  However, the cost of the medication,  and more importantly losing time at work and from my kids, I decided to try it.  I had a staple placed in both ears in March to prevent migraines.  The certified technician who placed mine said she was pinching off the energy channel (accupuncture technique) in my ear that often becomes clogged with toxins, stress etc. that caused migraines.  To my amazement I have been migraine free for 5 1/2 months.  I have done nothing different (diet, sleep, etc.)  You can only leave the staples in for 90 days and then they have to be replaced.  I will continue to do this and hope they continue to work.  I wanted to share my story with others so they might too find a medication free way to deal with the "migraine curse!"

Actually, I should have had at least 2 headaches in this time frame (5 1/2 months) so I am counting my lucky stars!  Your right I am lucky only getting 4 or 5 a year, but  with a 25 year track record, I'm pretty in tune with my headaches and what works and what doesn't.  I have been using the  abortive medicines, Axert and Imitrex and like I said they do work, but I hate the side effects for days after. 

I may have been sold "quite the deal" but it's working for me and I don't have to worry about the awful side effects.

Good luck with your headaches and like I said stapling it may not be for everyone, but if it works for one person...that's one less miserable person out there! 

P.S.  Maybe all those piercings aren't in the right place?
