I don't have TERRIBLE headaches, but they are never ending.  I usually wake up in the morning with a dull headache.  USUALLY, if I take a few Aleve, the headache isn't terrible and I can actually function.  For the most part, that's all I take, but occassionally the headaches come back really bad later in the afternoon and I will take a few more Aleve later.  This is daily.  I feel like for the most part, I get relief, but will daily Aleve lead to problems in the long run?  Anyone have insite on this?  Thanks

Yes, taking Aleve on a daily basis, as well as multiple times a day can lead to rebound headache. Your body get's used to the med in your system and wants it when it's not there. My doctor asked me to get off Iboprofen completely. He even put me on a steroid to help with withdrawel symptoms. Now I only take it maybe once a week, twice a week at THE MOST. Rebound is not a good thing. I would recommend getting off the Aleve. Hope that helps

Hello Minor Headaches,

Like Mother2 said, using Aleve that often can lead to rebound headaches, which are often worse than the original headache.  Another problem is; prolonged use of Aleve or other NSAIDs can increase your risk of internal bleeding because NSAIDs are blood thinners.  You might want to ask your doctor about some other treatment that will control your headaches without you having to take so much Aleve each day.
