I just wanted to share my good ER visit! I had to go to the ER this week for my migraine. It is kind of strange how it depends on what doctor is there and how they treat it. This time I was actually asked what usually helps. I said, well everytime I have to come here they do something different. I had a migraine for 4 days so I had no choice but to go to the ER (as told by my Neuro) So this time I did not have to get a IV (I have bad veins so I was happy about
that) They gave me Morphine and Reglan IM. It helped enough that I was able to go to sleep when I got home. But it came back the next day. I saw my Neuro today and my BP was 180/120, I was in so much pain.
I got my injections in my neck and I just took a Lortab and am off to sleep. I just wanted to share that everyone in the ER was so nice to me and they actually put me in a dark quiet room.
I have been to the ER (same one) probably twice already this month and was not treated as nice as the other night. I am glad I know what to tell them works this time :)
I just wanted to see how others have been treated in the ER for their migraines? I usually am given some meds in a IV, I think it is Depacon then a nausea drug, Torodol and them Morphine if it does not work. I really was so happy to be given the meds IM this time! The nurse and doctors were so nice to me. It stinks when my Zomig does not knock out the migraines :(
