I don't know the overall health of most of you. I do not want to step on doctor's toes. I have been down the the road of having migraines treated my my internist and neurologist. I was having 5 types of migraines or more during a day. My medications included topamax, trileptal, migrinal, an relpax. On top of that I took Soma and Hydrocordone when I wanted to chop my head off.
During this time I worked also. Or lets say I tried to. There were night mares. I also have sleep apnea and a rare metabolic disorder along with thyroid and other stuff that wreaked havoc. My genetic disorder had left me depressed all my life -- did not know what good was -- did know the headaches were bad.
The liver specialist kept telling me that the readings were not good. Liver inflamed to. So sent me to a special liver psychiatrist to try to stop headaches and get me off of any thing not needed.
First I learned the migraines come from the liver. Read about liver diseases including NASH and Cyrhossis. They all refer to migraines. She changed my meds to Klonopin 3 times a day, my two pills of effexor in the morning along with my topamax morning and evening. I continued my metabolic meds. Withing 2 weeks all migraines are gone.
The next step is working to lose weight and detox body and liver. I must loose weight to see if it will slow down liver issues related to migraines and such.
It was odd when I finally realized the headaches are gone. My neurologist is working on this too and learning a lot about the liver brain connection. It is the toxins and oxygen level.
So if you have migraines -don't be afraid to keep asking questions. Migraines are just symptoms that something else is wrong some where. So keep looking and good luck.
