Does your surgeon know that you are still experiencing lots of swelling in the nasal tissues? If so what did he/she recommend? If not, I think you should call.
I believe you are correct that things like Sudafed are not recommended at this stage. How long after surgery did they recommend you apply cold to your nose? I recall after my septum repair that I was told to ice 2-3 times a day. It may be diffferent now because I had mine YEARS ago. Also, if you are in a dry climate or where it is very cold, both can add to the dryness and swelling in the nose. Did they say if you could use a humidifier?
Keep using the Nasonex even though you think it isn't going where intended. It will help what it can reach.
