Migraine with loss of leg function

Hi everyone. I hope someone out there has heard of this. My daughter has migraines that are accompanied (sometimes) by loss of function in the right leg. These are not hemiplegic migraines, we've been told, because while she cannot walk on the leg, she does have normal strength in the leg when lying down. The arms are unaffected. As the headache abates, the leg goes back to normal. She also has a diagnosis of dysautonomia. If anyone out there has heard of this, I would love to know it.

I would say to start a food and drink diary . Also, see a neurologist that specializes in rare diseases. Dysautonomia is a rare neurological disease, in fact, some migraines are neurological. Your daughter can have the two problems playing against her. I recommend to see a rare disease specialist. A learning/teaching hospital is the best to go to.

Hi Migraine Mom!

Has she been to see a specialist. It sounds like it might be something with her nerves. I know a lot of people have one sided weakness with migraine type headaches but not being able to walk on it sounds serious! I would be concerned about stroke, but you said that her arm was fine!? hmmm...Im not sure.

How is she doing now?
