Well I guess I'll start off with my age, I'm 15 almost 16.
Last year I had my tonsils removed cause of tonsil stones, after the surgery my health never really went back to 'normal'. I took longer than most patients to recover, 1 month. After my surgery I started getting severe head aches. The first day I just thought it was just a normal head ache, I started High School so I thought it were stress. The next day I woke up with the head ache took some pain killer and went to school. The pain lasted all day. The 3rd day, my parents took me to my pediatrician, she thought they were migraines and proscribed me medication for them. She said if they didn't go away by Monday (it was Wed. when I saw her) that I needed to go back.
They didn't go away. She told me to get my eyes checked and then an MRI.
-I got my eyes checked; 20/20.
- Got an MRI without contrast
- And they threw a CAT Scan
They all turned out fine.
After that I went to a neurologist, she recommended another MRI but this time with and without contrast, another CAT scan and a brain waive test.
I got them done and they turned out fine. I continued with my headaches. She gave me Frova; which im only allowed to take it if my pain is a 7 out of ten. I did have to take that twice, it eased that pain but it didn't get rid of my headache. I was almost hospitalized because of the headache.
My headaches continued for the following months, (after two weeks or so, a family friend suggested to take Pomegranate it actually helped maintain my headaches at a low pain level.) I went back to my neurologist who recommended an 8 hour VG test (I believe thats the name of it, I'm not quit sure.) and I was told to get some other test, which I didn't because I was fed up with all the test. The 8 hour test turned out fine, nothing wrong. My headaches decreased from having them every day of the week to just once a week. I was out of school by now, I went to an allergy shot follow up, and my doctor said the headaches could be due to mold in the school since I was in portables. It seemed reasonable.
My headaches were gone for two or three weeks. My ENT suggested to go to a gynecologist that hormones could be the problem since I'm very small for my age. A week or more prior to my appointment I get my headaches back, they weren't too bad, highest pain lever a 5. She saw me, everything normal, she did tell me to get blood tests (i don't know the results of those yet.) I'm also going to get an VNG/EEN or something like that, its for dizziness. I'm getting that done tomorrow.
A few weeks ago I got a severe headache, the pain was extremely high my parents were terrified and were gonna take me to the ER. Luckily, my headache eased down with frova. Therefor, I stayed home. My headaches have continued for the past weeks, every day, every hour of the day.
I do have a high/low blood pressure problem, I'm taking salt pills twice a day because of it, when I first got my headaches I started falling a lot, I started taking the salt pills and I haven't fallen. :) I also have a high heart rate that consists of 104 beats per minute when calm sitting down.
No one knows what I have. Nor does anyone know how to get rid of the pain. Help? Please? I'm tired of all the testing they're doing to me. It's not painful but after a few months I got fed up, so far my summer only consisted of going back and forth to my doctors. I'm actually afraid of going to school and getting an extremely bad headache, and I don't want to miss school, sometimes in the mornings I can't even get up cause of them.
PS. I actually cut down with my chocolate, which didn't help at all. When I have a headache I take a very small amount of chocolate and it eases it a bit.
That was long. I hope someone could help and or just give me some ideas of what I could have. Thanks.
PSS. some of the parts may not make sense nor were they spelled right, I'm too lazy to re-read it. :P
EDIT:
Almost forgot,
the pain is always on my left side, right above my eye and lower head. I don't know if that helps.
