Hello,
I am preparing to have my PFO closure surgery done next Friday, March 12th. I am very scared, however I have had three mini strokes that I am aware of. One of these I was not able to talk.
I have read many of your posts and I am very concerned about the chest pain that you have experienced after the surgery. I do experience chest pains and have for years, not even knowing that I had this condition. I just recently learned that I had a PFO.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me before I go into surgery next friday? I know that my doctor prefers to use the metal round disc to close (I cant remember the name of it) but there are many types. When he was showing all of the different types to me, this is the one that appeared to be the most "sturdy" to me.
I am just very scared. I am 43, have seven children...three of which I have adopted that are special needs and very demanding. My oldest son who is 19 is on an exchange in Chile and just experienced the earthquake in chile!
Maybe I can rest in the hospital
Suggestions?
Thanks
