Question: Has anyone had test results come back confiming stroke?


 

I went to my migraine research study appt today, and they are thinking I may have had a stroke in the recent past...just looking for info...

Gonna do some research in the mean time...

I welcome all stories and info.

Hi Sara, I have no reason to think that I've ever had a stroke, but to be honest, that's one of my greatest fears. I worry that one day I'll ignore the headache from a stroke thinking that it's just a migraine.

Why do they think that you have had a stroke? Was there something that came up on a CT scan or an MRI?

That has been one of my biggest fears also...Especially since I have had migraines that have lasted weeks...I think my longest was 30 something days.

Anyway, I was at the physical therapists office a few months ago and at the Neurologist on Thursday and when they were doing some tests in the office they found that I have had loss of sensation on the right side of my body, more my face then arms and then legs...Well, this doctor thought it was bad enough to schedule and MRI with contrast. So, I am waiting on his staff to get back with me on when that will be. I will let everyone know when I go and what the results are. (Unfortunately, with no insurance I will be paying for the MRI :-(

I started having migrains after the birth of my daughter in 85. I had a stroke and 6 months later another one and like 6 months later another one. I had an mri done about a year ago and found I have had lots of mini strokes from the migrains. I did not even realize I was having them. But I know now not to let migrains go. It scares me now when i have bad ones. My neuro has suggested botox treatments but I dont know anything about them. And now I get high blood pressure that seems to bring them on also. I have been on sooo many meds over the years that just do not help or that I could not take. Have you heard of anyone trying the botox? I would love to talk to someone who has tried it. I feel for you so much with the strokes. They are so scary. And my eyesight over the past 2 years has really got bad.
