Hi all
I have had a small PFO closed last week, at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hopsital, it was 10mm in diameter. I was diagnosed following two incidents of DCS whilst diving. Prior to that I had suffered some palpatations which ignored and could often suffer with cold hands and feet. Otherwise I have lead a very active/sporty life, although I have never been great at distance/stamina work. Truth is, I never give it a thought, you just accept yourself as you know yourself.
In response to all the other posts on the forum I too have had some chicken bone sensation but nothing to worry me overly, and it has not occured since the weekend, when I was first home.
On a positive note my hands feel more connected to me (I had suffered varying degrees of numbness at varying times), both my hands and feet feel warmer and according to my wife my lips/complexion seems pinker. So I am hopefull that all is going to go well.
I am keen to return to my swimming/activity - any comment please Shaun, the Rugby League man, have you started training yet? What recommendations where made to you in this respect?
Best wishes
Tim
