Has anyone ever heard of prophylaxic treatment not working if fragrance is the trigger? This is what I was recently told. I just recently went back to work after working from home for a year and all of the fragrances are killing me. I had my migraines down to 6-10 a year, but now I have had 4 major ones, lasting 3 days with taking my Imitrex round the clock, and some pain most days. I have a clean air machine in my office now, and HR has provided me with a fax/scanner/printer/copier in my office so I need to go "out" into the highly fragranced areas less often. But still, it would be great to be able to prevent them in the first place. For example, in a recent (unrelated, I think) stay in the hospital, ALL the nurses and nurses aides wore perfume and of course, brought on a really bad migraine in the hospital! I feel like I can't go to the mall or large crowds without getting a migraine. Last trip to see a show in New York, fragrance and migraine........ I feel like I need to go around with a face mask the rest of my life! Anyone have any answers?
