Just wanted to know if anyone has ever had or heard of anything like this. I am a pretty healthy 48 yr old female
In 1995 I have Bacterial Meningettis. about 6 years ago my hearing started to decrease. I was told it was from the meningettis or the medication I had to take. I was given 2 hearing aids.
The I started getting a pressure on the right side of my brain, if I slept on that side it felt like my brain must have move and was laying on my skull causing pain, I would wake to this every day. So I stopped sleeping on my right side. That somewhat helped the pressure a bit.
But I would wake and was dizzy banging into the walls, my head hurt my ears ring and pop endlessly. When I sleep I am like unconcious. I have misses work over the way I wake up.
Then I started noticing other things. My right eye would water sometimes at night, my nose was plugged. I have had MRI's (3) cat scan (1) face x ray (1) over the past 6 years. Nothing shows up. Nasel passage is clear.
When I was given my first hearing aid my hearing was at a 35% loss in both ears. A year later 45 % a year later 60%.
On Oct 30.10 I heard a lot of nose in my right ear it got loud my head was hurting, and then suddenly my hearing was gone in my right ear.
Just like that gone.
I went back to my hearing Dr. he said go see the ENT again, I did. sure enough he is stumped. Put me on 82 pills stroids to take over the next couple weeks Then did nothing except help with pressure.
He is now ordering another MRI but who knows if anything will show up. Its been 6 yrs. From what I am reading I most likely won't get this hearing back in my right ear.
