Hi Everyone :o)
Im a 27 year old female and have suffered with migraines from the age of 16. I only used to suffer the occassional migraine (one every 3 months or so) but they have become much more frequent over the past 2 years. I have tried various different triptans and prescribed painkillers but whenever I asked my gp for a preventative he would always just say that we would see how I would get on with whatever medication he had prescribed that visit.
In the end I stopped going because I was getting know where and he really made me feel as though I was wasting his time. Over the past few weeks the migraines have become more frequent, so 10 days ago I went back to my gp's but saw a different dr. She was amazing andcouldnt understand why I hadnt been prescribed preventatives in the past. Anyway she prescribed 10mg Nortriptyline daily and the dissolvable Rizatriptan tablets to take if a migraine attack should occur.
I have been taking them for 10 days now and have still suffered migraines, but less than what I was (4 in the last 10 days)but I have this real strange feeling like my body is trying to bring on a migraine, its like its trying really hard to have one but just cant. Its a really strange feeling and Im not sure Im explaining myself properly but I cant think of another way to explaine it. I really hope you can understand what Im trying to say. I still get all the symptomslike the tiredness before and the sensitivity to light, but no headache as such, although there is something going on so I never no if I should be using the Rizatriptan??
Has anybody else expieranced this and do you think it will resolve itself in time or with an increase in the Nortriptyline?
Thanks in advance for your replies
