Topamax withdrawal?

Has anyone ever expereinced withdrawal after stopping (or weening off) Topamax?  My wife has decided to try to ween off some of the meds thinking that it may be the meds causing some of the problems she has been having.  One she wanted to stop was Topamax.  She is experiencing problems sleeping and muscle pain all over her body.  She has been taking it for about six months.

Oh no, that didn't happen to me, but I did start to shed a lot of hair, which as a female was quite scary. It lasted for about 3 months.

Maybe one of the other medications? A pharmacist might be able to answer this pretty quickly for you if she's been on a few different medications, they are fantastic resources.

I hope she has spoken to her doctor and is not reducing her dose on her own? I don't know whether or not there are potential withdrawal symptoms, but I do know that since it is one that affects the brain, I would assume that they back the dosage off as slowly as they build it up. I certainly wouldn't cut it down without speaking to the doctor first. Just my opinion.

Topamax shouldnt do that. But any pain/inflamation meds would if not weened properly. You should when weening drop only up to 5mg every two weeks. Sounds like she weened too fast
