First I'll preface with the fact that I have been reading some of the other posts trying to see if I can relate before I posted this, just because being repetitive is somewhat annoying.
Here's a short background so it may be easier to help give a bit of advice as to what may be going on in my situation. When I was 9 months old I began having Grand Mal seizures and they were unable to diagnose the reason behind this. I had many instances of Febrile seizures as well where my temperature would rise to between 105-107 degrees. My parents didn't believe I was going to live through my infancy. Between 9 months and 5 years it was hell for them, constant seizures. I was diagnosed with epilepsy, I do realize this is the migraine forum for those of you who are not familiar with seizures.
Shortly after at the age of 7 I began having terrible headaches, they would cause me to leave school, vomit, and I remember becoming dangerously thin. My parents constantly pushed me to eat and I just couldn't. From the ages of 7-13 I experienced these types of headaches, which my then neurologist diagnosed as "migraines." After I started my first period at 13 they slowed down drastically to when I was extremely stressed out, or around my cycle.
Fast forward to the past 8 or 9 months. I still deal with epilepsy but on a much toned down level; taking medication, exercising, and eating as healthy as my schedule will allow. about 8 or 9 months ago I noticed that I would wake up with a headache, almost as excruciating as a migraine. Slowly the headaches progressed into something worse and almost debilitating. I've tried dentists for teeth grinding, I've tried new pillows, new bed, moving, changing how I sleep.
Almost every morning I wake up with a sharp, stabbing pain that selects only one side of my head; usually the right. It will completely take away the vision from that side of my face. I am usually extremely nauseated and most of the time unable to get out of bed for at least 3-4 hours after initially waking up. The pain will occasionally radiate down my neck and make it difficult to turn for the rest of the day.
If anyone has any similar experience or suggestions I'd love to hear them, Thanks.
