I have a history of migraines with aura (heat wavy visual defect). They were bad during puberty then went away for 20 odd years. They came back while I was nursing my baby, but sans pain--just the aura and the woozy post-migraine hangover after the aura resolved.
A few days ago I noticed an aura forming (just a line, though, not the usual C-shaped thingy), but it went away. Since then it's been coming and going pretty constantly and my vision is ever so slightly grayed in that region (just left of center), which is normal for the aura stage, except that that usually last 20-20 minutes, not 3 days. Even weirder, it's only one eye. Typically my auras have been present in both eyes (consistent with a brain source of the migraine). Is this a retinal migraine (yes, I've been googling)? When will it go away? It's unnerving and I'm tired of the other migraine symptoms (even if they are mild). Moreover, I'm starting to worry that it's NOT a migraine.
How long should I wait before I start freaking and go sit in an emergency room? Any advice or information greatly appreciated!
