I had a severe migraine for a week. I take Topamax and Midrin. I've suffered from Migraines since the age of 12. I was on Midrin for yrs until I was switch to Topamax around 5 yrs ago. The pt. is this recent Migraine sent me to the ER on Friday all day. I was put on IV drip with Dilaudid (3 doses) until the Migraine stopped. A CAT scan was done. I'm waiting for the results to be sent to my Lupus Doctor on June 16th for review. Also, I had low potassium, with excruciating pain in my body from Fibromyalgia. No new tests were run for Lupus, b/c last month my Lupus test were high pos. I'm 31 and I've had Lupus since age 14, so it's running it's course as it's progressing to my brain I would suppose. It's getting harder to concentrate and comprehend things clearly.

For me dilaudid gives me a headache, as well as hydrocodone. The only things I have found effective for migraine are triptans and toradol. I don't know what your Topamax dosage is and whether its for the fibro or migraine but perhaps the dosage needs adjudting. I just recently started taking it and I know longer have the daily headache but I still have them once or twice a week. I am still on the lowest dose once daily and assume that will be adjusted when I return for my next appointment. I wish you luck in getting things in balance again.

I was prescribed Imitrex. Only problem is that there are only 9 pills.
