Stabbing pain in the head

Hi, I have been experiencing this stabbing pain in the top left part of my head above the neck for around 6 months or so and never previously have suffered from this. The pain started somewhat 6 months ago when I think I pulled my neck muscle while sleeping and this pain is not a constant one and only occurs randomly for 3-5 seconds. This shooting pain did however stopped for about 2 months but since last month it has come back and it is really discomforting and intolerable sometimes. I haven't seen a doctor yet as i get really anxious and partially due to the fact that it had stopped in the past but since this problem doesn't seem to get any better I will be visiting my doctor. However in mean time I would like your advice on this matter on what this problem could be related to.

Ramaz....welcome to the hw forum. I am sorry you are dealing with this pain, this could be so many things. Until you see a doctor who will likely set you up with a specialist and they will likely do some tests. You have come to the right forum, there are lots of members so maybe someone else might be able to give you some idea as to what this is.

Hello! I am having sharp shooting pain in my head tonight, but I have talked to my neurologist about this and he says it's just part of my migraines. When I have this pain it stops me in my tracks it's so painful. I have suffered with migraines for over 20 years. My migraines are now daily and nothing is controlling them. It's so frustrating, but I Never give up Hope!

I started to experience the sharp stabbing pain on the top left side of my head. It would happen when leaning forward and looking up or to the side most of the time. The quick pain only lasted two to three seconds. The last one I had almost brought me to my knees. I scheduled a visit with my chiropractor and after the first adjustment the stabbing pain was gone. The area still felt a little tender and I had a dull pain. After the second adjustment, I no longer experienced any pain. I have not had this stabbing pain since! I cannot imagine the cost and procedures and drugs I would have endured if I went to my family physician.
