Supraorbital nerve block?

So basically as far as my doctor is concerned, I've pretty much exhausted all other medical options for migraine relief. He wants to try a supraorbital nerve block. It looks terrifying. Has anyone tried this? Is it worth it? I just want some relief. I can't even take care of my 10 month old son sometimes because my migraines are so bad. Thanks in advance.

It should be a quick injection of numbing and healing meds - cortisone. I have had great relief - it can be repeated.
Seems that peripheral nerve stimulators which are imbedded under the skin are a more permanent fix - read newer research on dual supraorbital and occipital nerve stimulators for migraine.
- it helped me get more effective pain relief from meds and also reduce meds.

I've tried both: the nerve blocks and the embedded nerve stimulators.

As help23 said, while nerve stimilator implant is rather an ordeal, a nerve block is a quick and easy process. Just a handful of injections with a small needle, around the eyebrow line in your case. Also, I'm very surprised that your neurologist feels that s/he has exhausted all other options if you haven't tried nerve blocks earlier. They're a very common treatment. In fact, if you don't mind sharing I'd be interested to hear, in general, what treatments you've tried. Perhaps we can think of some other things to try.
