Hello. I am also a 17 year old female who has the same problem in the same place.
I have been getting these severe migraines on the right side of my head ONLY since I was 14. It is across my forehead, around my eye, and the right side of my nose. I get these migraines with varying frequency, but almost always at least once a month. It causes debilitating pain that leaves me bed-ridden for 4 to 12 hours. I get dizzy, light-headed, weak, nauseated, and of course I feel extreme pain on the right side of my forehead.
I don't know if your symptoms are the same or if you have the same type of migraines as me, but if your symptoms match mine pretty closely you probably do not have a tumor. I got scanned for tumors or brain abnormalities and I came out totally clean. You should still check with a specialist, though.
The medicine I take that fixes my headaches 80-90% of the time is imitrex (sp?). It takes up to 2 hours to work, but it does normally help. If your doctor DOES suggest this, make sure he gives you the lowest dose and be sure to cut it in half the first time. Why do I say this? The first time I took a whole before bed I could not move my arms or legs in the morning and my heart rate and breathing were slowed alarmingly. And my dad tried to pull me out of my bed and make me go to school, hahaha!!I thought I was going to die, honestly. I'm glad that I decided to try it again at half the dose because it was the only thing that has worked.
Whatever happens, I wish you luck. Migraines freaking suck.
