I won't go overboard with a story but here's a bullet point of events.
-No history of headaches at all.
-Got headache last friday, come on fast and hard, top right side, stabbing throbbing pain. Went away as quick as it came 15 minutes later.
-Saturday and Sunday two more mild headaches.
-Monday, woke up with a bad headache in the morning for the first time, the others developed during the day. I will have this headache nonstop, still ongoing today.
-Went to ER wednesday, I'm starting a new job soon and was concerned, wanted to handle it ASAP. CT scan is all clear.
-Went to doctor early this morning, checks sinuses and lymph nodes. No fever, nausea, or anything to suggest infection. He thinks they're tension headaches, I know they're not but he insists(my boyfriend has tension headaches and I tried them already and they didn't help, I told the doctor this but again, he insisted). Prescribes me tension headache medicine which doesn't help at all.
-I've tried taking xanax to see if it was stress related and those didn't help either.
I hope I didn't miss anything.
So it isn't sinuses, tumor/hemorrhage or anything in the brain, not tension related, no infection, not stress related, but I still this headache nonstop.
The headaches happen in the form of "attacks". It will be a dull ache for maybe 30 minutes at a time, followed by another 30 of pounding and stabbing. The headache is primarily on the right side, maybe 3 inches up and one inch back from my temple. Sometimes I can feel it in my temple, occasionally around the back of the head. The "attacks" don't seem to be triggered by anything, they will happen and go away without any change in environment. The attacks come in the form of stabbing and throbbing pain that feels like two needles poking me in the general area described. Ibuprofen helps quite a bit, although the attacks can still be felt just more mild. I would rate the attack as a 7 on the pain scale without medicine. My caffeine intake is very low and has been 0 since I started getting headaches. Just today my eyebrow and behind my eye started hurting, a sort of aching pain or soreness.
That's all the info I can think to provide. Please feel free to ask questions. I have no idea what to do.
