Hi All,
Im gonna make it brief, 2 years ago after a night out drinking I had vision issues which never went away.....Disorientated, spaced out, sensitive to light, sensitive to sound, double vision, confusion, derelastion, flashing vision. You name it - but it all stems from my vision. I do get headache as well, but nothing to complete ground me like what I thought a migraine has to be like.
Before this whenever I would go out drinking I would take 2 - 3 days to recover, with this exact feeling, but I thought I just got hungover easily and badly.
I have been to 2 neurologists, I have an appointment for an MRI scan, I have taken numerous medication and the general diagnosis is I have migraine aura, or some visual complex which doesnt go away and is persistant. They are confident though if I find the right medication I have a good chance of it going away.
The neurologists have described it as 'the gain, in my brain (no rhyme intended) has been turnt up and needs to be settled down. I have tried Sodium Valproate, Lamotorogine and im now going on to Topamax.
My main question is, is this really what a migraine can do?
Does anyone else suffer from this? and / or know how to control it?
Can Topamax cure this?
Any advice / ideas / anything would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
