For as long as I can remember my mother has had episodes of what I believe to be hemiplegic migraines. I'm posting here because I think she was misdiagnosed. Basically what happens is she starts with a migraine headache, turns into complete loss of vision, and then complete paralysis, the paralysis usually lasts about 15 minutes. When she feels the migraine come on and starts to lose her vision, she will go lay down because she knows the paralysis is coming next. When she gets up, all of the symptoms disappear (lethargy etc still remain). Doctors told her she was having seizures. But to me it sounds more like hemiplegic migraines. My question is does anyone else have these that cause complete paralysis? From what I've read it's usually one side of the body, not the entire body.
