I'm applying for disability. I've been with the same group of neurologists for about 7 yrs. I have Ben put on many RX over the years. Have hade infusions, visits for shots, you probably know the drill. I have been diagnosed with chronic migraine.
Yesterday I called finally got a call back to my question of update on if the sent SS records. Nurse told me they're office ALWAYS has same answer to the question: is patient employable. YES!! I said you've got to be kidding! No, she says. Across the board, not by patient condition. All of they're patients no matter how sick, are able to hold a job. Has anyone ever heard of this! Sorry but another problem with this group. The Dr. I've been trusting for so many years is very knowledgable in migraines. His nurse told me this about a year ago. The bought in a headache specialist who I'm seeing now. Still sick.

Dear Brokenbecky.
Sometimes neurologists stop listening to you after a while especially when you've been seeing them for a while.
This happened to me.
I saw 11 neurologists that didn't listen to my having debilitating headaches.
Unfortunately my headaches turned out to be more than a migraine.
I have a rare medical condition.
I went to different neurologist & he's fantastic.
Don't give up keep pushing for help & answers to pain relief.

I'm beginning to think its some kind of a scam. I have spent thousands, & I'm not the only one. It's like theyre playing games. I think $ is bottom line. In the meantime, many of us suffer & keep shelling out(in my case) my husbands hard earned $. Married 34 years. I can't work. That's it. But I'm still shocked my"headache specialist" & they're group answered YES to the SS Disability form for ALL patients. I will be finding a new group. Thank you for your reply. I hope you will by ok in the near future. Becky

Do you live in Australia? Unfortunately I've just been put on a pension.
I found that all the previous neurologists I saw we're ignorant uncaring greedy doctors only interested in their egos and sucking up to each other.
The 11 A... H..... all ganged up on me & told me I only had headaches.
For 2 years solid 24/7 & other serious probs too.
I'm recovering from long term brain fluid leak.
It's caused damage but I'm still here fighting.
Lawyers are investigating now.

BE STRONG DON'T GIVE UP KEEP FIGHTING, Search for other neurologists or do what I did. I went to see a neurosurgeon.

Angel99, I live in North Carolina so I guess doctors can be stupid all over the world. Especially when it comes to an illness that you can't see on the outside of our body's. that's horrible what you had to go through, & good for you getting a lawyer. I wish it was a requirement for any doc. Specializing in migraines suffer from migraines. Things might be different. I get odd thoughts when I'm frustrated thinking about these things. I have other issues but won't go into that. How did they finally discover the fluid leak? I became a Vegan May 2012 desperate to try anything to help myself. Didn't help the migraines but my cholesterol went normal, lost 30 lbs, & helped IBS. I like your username. My Moms was Angellee. Keep me posted

Hi Brokenbecky,
In the end my beautiful husband of 28yrs Wayne emailed Neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo in desperation.
When I arrived he had a neurosurgeons from Canada, Japan & USA learning his minimal invasive brain surgery.
I talked to USA neurosurgeon Dr Mike Sughrue. He asked if my agonising pain was worst standing up & eased a little laying down. He is a Lovely Doctor.
Within 30 minutes he diagnosed me. He had seen 3 patients like me in USA but I was the worst he'd seen due to damage sustained.
Dr Teo & Dr Sughrue arranged for me to have CT guidance lumbar puncture to measure my CSF opening pressure. Due to the Low 14cm pressure it set me into 6hrs of brain seizures. I then had MRI Myelogram to view spinal fluid flow & leak. Found it at C8 nerve root & coming out my nose. Then I locked up & stopped breathing.
I felt Wayne's presence & heard his voice & I came back very calm. I met my angels there but due to memory loss I can't remember but I know they're with me.
Dr Mike Sughrue is working at University of Oklahoma 1000 N Lincoln Blvd #406t Oklahoma City.

I'm mostly housebound unable to return to work or resume my university double degree yet!!!!
In now live with chronic nerve pain, paralysed burning right foot, have prism glasses for my double vision so I can learn to read again a bit.
Everyday I wake up breathing is a great day.

I now have a great team of doctors- fantastic neurologist, ophthalmologist, optometrist, my general practitioner GP taking care of me. I don't trust any others I've lost faith in all the rest.
I wouldn't give up so don't you give up.
Google Dr Mike Sughrue on the Internet.
Go & see him no matter what.

It's people like you that keep me going! You've been through very horrible times but your outlook is amazing. You saw angels? I know I have at least 2 angels. I've needed 2 since I was little. Thank you for sharing with your story with me. I also have a great husband. Married 34 years. But I do wear him out. I can't believe he has put up with me for so long because I feel like he deserves a wife that can enjoy life with him. And not spend all of his hard earned $ on my medical bills, insurance, & RX. As sick as we are, we are blessed. I just wish so much to have pain free days. I guess that's too much to ask a Dr.! Thanks for the Drs name& info. I like your comment on the day I don't have to be brokenecky anymore. That was cute. Sorry for MY long message!

Your husband loves you that's why you're still together.
Wayne said that I told him during my brain seizures to forget about me & find another woman. He said no way you're my wife till death do us part through sickness & health.
Dr Shugrue wasn't in Oklahoma when the tornado hit.
He's certainly got angels looking after him!
It's a very sad day when neurologists & doctors disregard their hypocritical oath 'do no harm' to their patients.
My first born grandson Bryce died at the hands of incompetent idiot doctors & nurses in 2008. He is with me always.
Unlike USA where doctors are charged & put in jail her in Australia they usually get away with it. They keep burying their mistakes & get away with it.
They need to step up do their job or get out & retire.
I'm enjoying watching my precious grandchildren grow up. Another one on the way. Darling little 4year old Nevaeh Leigh is excited about her brother being born on 16 July 2013. Nevaeh is heaven spelt backwards. She is heavenly Leigh.
I wish you all the luck to get relief & get your life back very soon.

Am having a good day! Should say a good morning . Thank you. Hope you are doing good. I told Rick, my husband all about you, & how your husband is so great to you. I have to say I thought about you, other migrainers, me, actually alo yesterday. Got mad, then sad, then blessed. I was all over the place emotionally. Because no matter how bad we are there is always someone worse off.
But I'm still angry with doctors& don't trust them. So I have to hope that everything will be ok. Disability or not. Once I took a friend with cance to a priest that heals people. She did eventually die but she died loving God & with peace in her heart. That she didn't have before & she didn't believe in God. I don't know why I tell you this. I just thought of it. My new name should be Babblingbecky! Take care, my new friend

Have you ever seen an allergy specialist?
I did in 2000. Wow the foods, dust mites, pollen etc I was allergic to we're amazing.
They can trigger migraines. Just a thought.
Don't give up & don't cop any crap from doctors either.
My GP immigrated here from England. That's why he has better education. I said god forbid if I ever move away ill have to find a competent doctor. I told him I will ask for their résumé including continual professional education seminars they've attended. He nearly fell off his chair with laughter. He said good on you great idea.
Don't give up, get on the Internet search for doctors that investigate ALL your symptoms. Not place you in the lazy basket labelled Migraines.
I have going days & bad days. I can be fine for weeks then break down & cry. I should have died 3 times but I survived. Think I might be a cat! Ha Ha!!
Life is a journey & I bless everyday I wake up in the morning.
