Hi, I'm almost healed from this debilitating condition and wanted to share some of the things I found to help. Hopefully others will add their successful treatments/supplements as well.
Brief history of my disease; around 2006 had vestibular neuritis (chronic middle ear infection) for one week - never fully regained all balance (before I was sailing in 5m swells no nausea)
Years later 2008 burnout when I took a break from my career. Recovered partially but never hit 'full health'. late 2009 a sore shoulder developed into a sore neck (the location of my migraines) and the dizziness started. Went home (parents) for Christmas and got stuck there for 3 months until well enough to fly home. After that there was 2 years of awful migraines, a year of average migraines and a year of becoming normal again.
Initially (those 3 months) it felt like my whole body was shutting down, the pain was so intense that it was similar to being so drunk you are totally unaware of your surroundings.
Initially what helped were natural therapy sessions, specifically prahnic healing, kinesiology (kinergetics) and reflexology.
I recommend this to everyone! I also did 'biomedics' where they analyse your blood and adjust your supps, nutrients to optimize cell health - awesome! Most of my gains have been through this, the orthodox meds were a good stop gap to give me enough relief to get me to the appointments. (I was on tobamax and periactin)
Accidentally I discovered that fish oil was helping (I ran out for a week, and both craved it and got worse headaches)
I use a DHA high brain formula - it reduced the intensity of the pain by half!
The rest has been fine tuning my health mainly thru the natural therapies, and through that working out which foods are not for me.
Kinergetics is like a defrag and reformat c for your brain and particularly your subconscious - I've learned through experience that although you don't feel traumatized by something subconsciously you may be - you can build up quite a collection of this baggage and eventually it manifests in some sort of health issue.
I have been off all migraine meds for over a year, we are finally trying to start a family and I have one strong headache a month - if that.
Hopefully this will help someone else :)
