Hello, Purplegdaisy! Oops. Had to go back and put the g in there.
I don't use Imitex anymore, but when I was first given the shot form, I wasn't crazy about giving myself a shot either, and wasn't really sure I could do it. But this is what I did:
I gave myself a "shot" over and over again without the needle in it, until I got the motion down and wasn't nervous about it at all. When the time came, I had done it about a dozen times, so it was just like a reflex. You will like it. The injection works much faster than the pills.
I wouldn't doubt that a car accident could cause killer migraines even if you didn't have a bruised head injury. Especially for someone who already has a history of migraines. I hope the Topamax calms them down for you. Starting with the low dose and increasing gradually is exactly what should be done. You found a doctor who knows what (s)he's doing. Is this the doctor who's checking into the sleep apnea?
One more thing. You'll probably see reference to rebound headaches elsewhere. Did your doctor tell you not to use the Imitrix too often? Let us know if he didn't. Someone here will enlighten you.
