Hi, I'm new so I hope it's ok to post here.
For the past 10 months or so I have been getting these terrible debilitating headaches. I have had the occasional migraine in the past (once in a blue moon) and this feels totally different. On a good day I get intermittent sharp shooting pains in my forehead throughout the day - always in the same spot; about
an inch above where my eyebrow starts on the right side of my forehead - on a bad day these pains get more intense and become a constant pain that no painkillers will touch - I have tried paracetamol, ibuprofen, codeine, sumatriptan and propranolol, nothing helps.
When I get this severe pain it almost feels like my right eye is shutting slightly, it isn't, but it feels like it. It will then spread to the right side of my face and my upper right row of teeth feel like they're dragging or being dragged from my jaw and I will get a tension like headache in the back of my head. The only thing that helps is going to bed with an ice cold flannel on my head and sleeping it off, sometimes it is still there when I wake for a short time but mostly by morning it is gone and the cycle continues. These severe headaches happen about
once a week, they occur more often if I am stressed, concentrating or busy but there seems to be pain to some extent every day.
I have seen a neurologist who was nice, she thinks it is migraine but has ordered me an mri as a precaution, which is 3 weeks from now. I am in my early 30's with a family and am terrified these headaches are something terrible. Has anyone any experience of anything similar please?
Thank you for reading
