starting topamax

Im starting topamax for about the 5th time in my life. I have chronic migraine due to lyme and babesia. They are easily triggered by foods and environmental allergies as well. The reason this is my 5th time is because im a year into treating those infections and before nothing helped. Also realized that lactase in meds set of my allergies 100%. I kept saying topamax made my head worse but noone would listen and it was because of the fillers. Finally, a pharmacy compounded it for me and I can tolerate it. I do get typical side effects of tingling and cognitive effects even at 25mg. Im willing to accept that. The worse for me is insomnia. It does not make me sleepy it gives me energy and I take it in the morning. All meds treat me weird as I sleep fine if I dont take anything. Anyway my question is has anyone with tick infections and allergy triggers had any success with topamax? I am not very patient with symptom relief meds. Ive tried many meds to prevent migraines. I know its not a cure as Im treating my underlying conditions but was hoping to get some relief at least.
