constant migraine 8years

I have had a migraine every day for nearly 8years . Neck pain /eye pain. It disables me most days to the point i cant do anything. Have been diagnosed as having neurological disorder. And about to be put on Sodium Valporate for migraine. Hpwever i am sceptical as i have one every day so wondered how can it help . I am only 25years old and have had this since i was 17. Hoping it can alleviate some of the pain .

I'm not familiar with that medication, but there are medications that you take daily to help prevent migraines (rather than abort them, as triptans do). I haven't hit 8 years but I've had a migraine to some degree (if nto a cluster headache) pretty much every day since 2008, for the most part I just "deal with it" and can ignore it, until it hits a certain point. When I have cluster headaches that "point" comes much more often, and my dr recently started me on Verapimil (it's a blood pressure med) to help, and it has helped quite a bit. After 7-10 days on the med the cluster that started right after I started the med died down and I've not hit that "point" since (it's only been a couple of weeks).

A note on the juice detox (I've been there), it can increase headaches at first (usually till about day 3 or 4) as your body gets used to being without some of the things it's addicted to (caffeine, sugar, etc). If you can get past that it's well worth it. Just know that it may make you feel much worse for a bit before it gets better.
