First, let me start by saying that I completely feel your pain, literally. I have gone through the gambit of medications and treatments for migraines as well.
I am lucky to have a neurologist that suffers from migraines so is understanding.
With that being said, over the years I have tried everything. I was getting a migraine each month, right around "that time of the month", due to hormone issues.
My neuro, worked with my PCP and OBGYN, and between them, decided to put me on BC all the time, I don't take the week off. Every 4 to 6 months I take a week off of BC. But besides that, I take it constantly. Taking birthcontrol all the time has its issues, but far less than my brain exploding.
Also, I had my B12 level tested, and it was nearly non exsistant, so now I take 1000mg of B12 daily, which has helped a little bit, and even a little bit is a lot when it comes to constant migraine pain.
I have hydro for break though pain, and maxalt and axert for the big gun medication, Phenergan for nausea, and diazepam for help when need. As far as daily, I have taken the depekot years ago, and Topamax as well. Now I am taking a beta blocker. The beta blocker doesn't seem to help as much as Topamax, but works far better than any anti depressant that I have ever used.
Non medication, I have found warm showers, just sit and let the water hit your neck head and shoulders. Also try drinks or smoothies made with pineapple, cucumber, and turmeric. I have been having one every morning, and it is helping slightly.
As far a starting verapamil, I tried it for sometime, but got little to no relief, and couldn't justify the cost with no real help to show with it. did made me a bit unable to wind down sometimes so watch out with that.
