Hi there, I never post on these boards. I just wanted to possibly help someone else if they are experiencing what I have been for the past ten years, give or take.
I had a constant headache for so long I can't remember when it really started. Some years were worse than others. I have allergies, and thought it was all allergy related. The pain was in my face, my temples, my teeth, my forehead.
First, if you have allergies and face pain, try Singular. I don't know why more doctors don't automatically prescribe it for a sinus headache in an allergic patient. The research has shown it to help specifically with that kind of pain. After only one day, my horrible face pain, tooth pain and temple/forehead headache went away almost completely.
Second, get your thyroid checked. I discovered that half of my problem was a low thyroid and it made my allergies worse, my congestion worse, so many things actually. The thyroid is a mysterious gland that seems to control everything. So get it checked. Don't rely on symptoms. The only one I thought I had was cold feet.
Third, do not drink tea - not green tea, not black tea and not white tea. Herbal teas not made from the camellia sinensis plant are fine. Tea affects your thyroid and masks the problem at the same time. If you drink tea, the blood results for your TSH might look normal even though you are hypothyroid. That is what happened to me, and I was likely hypothyroid for years without a diagnosis. Cold feet and drinking tea? Yep, it's probably hidden hypothyroid. Switch to peppermint tea and your thyroid may recover on it's own without meds. Adding a multivitamin with selenium, zinc and iodine will help with this. Also, take calcium.
Hope this helps someone.
