I'm new here (hello everyone) and will try to keep this as brief as possible since I know it's easy to get bogged down in health history. I'm wondering if anyone has ever been prescribed diclofenac eye drops for migraine pain.
Past history-long (6 month) illness. Started with horrible left sided temple pain, blurred vision in left eye. Eventually had a rash and left side arm pain so bad I thought I was having a heart attack. Have had mri's and blood work out the ying yang. Also had cardiac stress test and full cardiac workup (blood work, chest xray, etc.) Heart is fine. Arm pain has subsided but flares occasionally. Neuro dr. thinks it was a pinched nerve. I also eventually developed a rash. Most probable diagnosis (after multiple doctor visits including family physician, neurologist and rheumatologist) is that I had a pinched nerve and shingles or another viral illness that caused everything. I had a high sed rate and positive ana, and at the time had a white count of over 20,000. Did 6 months of prednisone tapering down from 60mg. Feeling better now 6 months later, but still have occasional flares of the excruciating temple pain and my hair is coming out like crazy (maybe from the prednisone taper or from the shingles? I don't know.) It's like a tingling sensation and sharp pain. My hair even hurts on that side. Lasts for at least a day usually and is usually accompanied by nausea.
My neruo feels it's a type of migraine and prescribed diclofenac eye drops to use at pain onset and I also usually take a muscle relaxer to help (baclofen). Anyone used either before for migraines.
