I get tingling at the end of my fingertips if I consume sodium phosphate. Another migraineur had posted that this common baking soda replacement/preservative will cause hypocalcemia which causes the tingling in the lips and fingers.
After I cut sodium phosphate from my diet, I stopped having daily headaches and those other symptoms that followed like the tingling in the fingers, right sided numbness, neck pain, muscle cramps, and confusion.
Before I became pregnant, I mostly ate fresh fruits and veggies, milk, eggs, and sandwiches with cheese & deli meat (all organic with no preservatives like nitrates or sulfates).
If I find myself weak and want to consume my husband's aunt's famous pies at Thanksgiving, I drink a glass of milk beforehand and another during to lessen the impact of the migraine.
