I have suffered from Migraines for years now but here recently they haven gotten worse and I have been having major personality changes and mood swings. I cry everyday and can't control my temper I don't understand what's going on. I have also been having moments of confusion and memory loss.

Hello Mo & welcome to Healing Well. Are you being treated by a neurologist that deals with migraines? There are many options out there to treat them from medications to Botox injections. Many have found Botox to be beneficial. I know insurance can be an issue & generally people have to exhaust oral meds before taking the next step. It is really expensive.

Your mood swings & such most likely are a result of the migraines.

No I am being treated by my primary care doctor. I have no insurance and was seeking advice as to if I should take another step and see a neurologist. I haven't been to the doctor over this recent problem because I can't afford it right now.

May I ask what your PCP has tried you on for the migraines? I would ask to be referred to a neurologist for a consult when you can get the money together. You can call around to see how much it would cost for a cash paying patient. Sometimes they will give a discount for cash paying patients. The neuro can work with your PCP on meds to try you on.

Also, not sure if you are aware of this but GoodRx.com & Blink.com are two companies that give very good discounts on medications. We use them all of the time & save money. GoodRx has a phone app & you can sign up with them same with Blink. You can type in the medication, dosage & number of pills & it gives you the price.

What i do when i have a headache? Replaces all your drinks with water, open all your windows in your house, and silence any noises coming your way.
