I've had daily facial paresthesias for about
four months now. It's mostly at night actually - with no distinct pattern. Usually around my forehead but creeps up to the top of my skull, sometimes around the back. I used to have issues with migraines, but I haven't had any real bad headaches for months now - but the paresthesias is still there.2 CTs and one MRIs were clear. I did have some degenerative disc issues in my cervical spine and do frequently have neck pain. The orthopedic didn't seem to think it was related....though who knows.
I went to a new neurologist who put me on gamapentin and asked me to get an MRA. We do have one family member (grandfather) who died of a cerebral aneurysm before I was born, so he wanted to rule it out- though I would think this would've been caught on one of two MRIs? maybe not. He was also curious if one of my vertebral arteries (which is bigger than another), is possibly pushing upon a nerve. He also prescribed 400 mg per day of riboflavin. I kept repeating that my headaches were few and far between these days - and they have no pattern. Sometimes they're tension, other times icepick, other times in the back, sometimes in the front.
My jaw also cracks a lot. So does my neck.
I also happen to have bad anxiety and am wondering if there is a connection. For example, when I went to the neurologist, I could feel the facial tingling, but I hadn't had it all day that day. I didn't mention it to the neurologist because I also didn't want to be dismissed but maybe I should've because now I am waiting on the MRA results with dread.
Anyone else experience facial paresthesias with migraines or with anxiety?
