Hey Lauren,
It doesn't really sound like you are having actual "migraine" attacts, unless you have consulted with a qualified physician and have benn diagnosed. If not, as described it sounds like tension related headaches, caused by anything from eyestrain, loud noise, or even allergies. You didn't mention if you had actually even seen a doctor about this problem or if you were taking any medication for the pain. The more information you can include in your post, the more accurately we can give you suggestions. The first big question is whether or not this problem is causing you to change the way you live you life more than 1 or 2 days a week. If so you need to pursue this with a physician, start with a general practitioner, then get referred to a neurologist if necessary.
As for Botox, the shots are not cheap, and don't last very long. If you can find any other option of controlling your headaches, I would suggest going that way, as I doubt you would want to keep a routine of getting shots every few weeks for the rest of your life. Not to mention, most all insurance companies view Botox as an elective procedure, thus, will not pay for any of the treatment. There are a bazillion medications you could try to take for the problem, far less drastic than Botox, not to mention more economical than the shots. The bottom line is that the jury is still out on the effectiveness of the drug.
Anyway, just my two cents worth. Let us know how you are doing.
