Gabapentin for migraines

My doc recently prescribe gabapentin for my migraines. I’ve tried topomax, elitriptan and rizatriptan and none of them are making a dent in the number of headaches and migraines. I’m averaging 10-15 a month, and if it’s a good week if I can go a span of 3-4 days without a headache. I’m also on Ajovy injection once a month at the same time as the Topomax- apparently they work at targeting the migraines differently.

At any rate, has anyone had success with Gabapentin? Hopefully it’ll be short term just get them under control and then I can titrate down.

Thanks. Yea I’m already trying the monthly injection - this would be on top of that- layering until the injection kicks in. It takes about 6 months for the injection to fully reach its full effect. I do go to a headache specialist now. Only one other specialist in our stats and it’s a 6 month wait to get in there. We’ll see how the gabapentin goes. She said it would only be temporary - she seems to have a lot of tools in her toolbox, so to speak.
