effexor and headaches

Has anyone heard of effexor making migranes worse. When I was on just effexor I did not have many headaches. Now I am on topamax and effexor and I am having daily headaches. I am suffering bad. My problem is the effexor is helping my depression so much that i dont know what is worse. When I was on just topamax and no effexor I had no headaches I need to decide which one I want to give up. Any suggestions Do i want to be in bed every day with a headache or with depression. I am ready to give up.

That's too bad. When I was on effexor it actually helped reduce my migraines, but if I was you I would GET OFF it immediately. There are lots of antidepresents out there that don't give you migraines. I'm on a new one called Lexapro and I haven't had any side effects, migraine or otherwise, at all. I have a couple of friends on it that also haven't had any side effects either. It is a fairly new one, so you might ask your doctor about it and give it a try.

Good luck. Migraines gave me depression, so I know how you feel. It is just terrible. I hope you get help soon.
