Megthered-
From the information I have read you are NOT too old to be getting migraines at this age. It may have something to do with hormones...in addition to other triggers that may be harder to spot as quickly.
When my migraines started getting bad I had my eyes checked, i had x-rays, MRI's, EEG's, I went to a chiro, I was tested for allergies, I had my bloodsugar tested...anything I could think of to rule out to make for darn sure that it was migrianes.
Have you been through the migraine diet to rule out common food triggers? (I know that artificial sweeteners are a relatively new PUBLISHED one! along with the old favorites, chocolate, aged cheese, red wine...some good ones for me are anything tomato, oranges, MSG!!! pepperoni)
Weather is a huge trigger, Crying-sets me off quickly, My monthly friend is a nightmare and throwing off my sleep schedule-usually sleeping too much is worse than sleeping too little (in the short term)
WAIT...taking Tylenol is MOST LIKELY throwing you into an ugly cycle of REBOUND (AKA medication overuse headaches) and caffeine can be a double edged sword here too...some can be good, but if you miss your usual dose of caffeine you can have withdrawls from that too...what was the other thing you mentioned? Honestly, and not trying to be harsh here sweetie...this sounds like you are doing yourself more harm than good...these self prescribed treatment needs to end...it will be tough but best for you in the long run. There are lots of options for PREVENTION and abortive treatment that will work, it just takes a little time to find the right combination sometimes.
