Could this be a migraine???

My husband has had a headache for one solid week with no relief.  He has been to the doctor two times and today they told him that he needs to go for a cat scan tomorrow.  He is hurting in the back of his neck and sometimes across in his temples.  He has complained that it hurts over the top of his head too.  The doc said that a late onset of a migraine would be kind of unusual, but I am grasping!  The doc also indicated that he thought it was "vascular" based on the fact that my dh played a softball game and he said that was the only relief he got (running, exercise).  I am so worried, no over the counter meds have helped.  He got a shot of Imitrex today and is taking Relpax but has said that is "dulls" it but does not make it go away.

You might want to ask your doctor about cluster headaches.  They are quite painful, my husband says it feels like someone is taking a sledge hammer to his head at times, they wake him up from a dead sleep and affect his entire day. The headaches tend to last for weeks sometimes a month at a time and he gets very little releif from them until they have run their course.

He went through cat scans, dentists, neurologists before he was diagnosed.  One of the characteristics of them is a post nasal drip after the headache has peaked.  Good luck
